Outstanding:
I have been wood working for over 20 years and am very impressed. The instructions are clear and concise on how to execute the different cuts. This jig is what I would call high quality and a very solid piece of equipment. The adjustments are simple but precise. I would recommend this to a friend.
disappointed:
I had used my father in laws jig before (not a Porter-Cable) and was very happy with the results. After a couple of practice runs to get familiar with it, I was off and running. When it came time for me to purchase a jig for myself I was planning on getting the same unit. Unfortunately I found this one on sale and had relatively good luck with Porter Cable before, so I purchased this instead. A great tool with a bit of help:
I really like this jig - it does just what I need. I will admit that I had some problems getting things to
work at first. I found that I needed to support both pieces around six inches beyond the clamps to
get things to cut well. I ended up building Woodsmith Magazines' "Portable Dovetail Jig Workcenter"
and now I'm REALLY HAPPY! Take a look at supporting the pieces if you can't get the dovetails as clean
& snug as you might like - you'll be happy you did.
