I used The Beast to tear off a 9 square roof. It was two layers of t-locks and a layer of cedar shakes. The Beast took it all off at once. I was very impressed with its performance. I had no need to make any modifications to the tool, it worked great right out of the box. I would recommend this tool to anyone from a homeowner to a professional roofing crew. If you are going to tear off a roof The Beast is worth the extra couple bucks.
The "Beast":
The "Beast" works much better than a potato fork. I have no complaints about the performance. The reason for the 4 stars is that, shortly after ordering the beast, I saw something similar at Home Depot for about half the price.
Great tool:
I would highly recommend this tool for stripping a roof. It is defintely worth the money! The removal of shingles was much less of a chore than with any other tool I have used in the past, and the design of the stripping tool also makes removal of the nails easy too.
contractor likes it:
I bought this because help hit a tree or somthing with the last one I had for years. It removes twice the shingles as a basic roofing spade. The adjustable head angle is a back saver to match the roof pitch. Keep a basic roofing spade for ridge cap and small places.
