The Jet 5-Inch Hose Clamp is an ideal device to connect piping to dust hoods, blast gates, and fittings. For added convenience, the clamps are designed with a steel band that can be tightened with an onboard ribbed diameter adjustment.

NOT for 4" hose!:
Typically, this sort of clamp has notches the entire length of the band. Note: this one does NOT (look closely at picture). It works great for a 5" hose, but runs out of notches when used for a 4". You can tuck a small shim between the clamp and hose to 'trick' it into working, but that's not really what anyone is looking to do. Don't buy this for an outside diameter less than 4.25" or greater than 5.5". Otherwise, it's an adequate clamp.
Slippin and a' Slidding:
I used both types of band clamps- steel band clamps and wire band clamps- with the ribbed hose in my dust collection system.The steel band clamps slipped more, were harder to control going on and didn't seat as well as the the wire band clamps
